Like many other families, we started 2020, the year of vision with goals. The pandemic has made it laughable at this point that one of the goals the children had was to host more gatherings at our home. This has not happened.
This year has become the year of pioneering through uncertainty with as little fear and as much confidence as possible. Whether you’ve ever thought of yourself as a leader or not, you are making a path forward for yourself and your family despite obstacles. The uncertainty facing us can blur our vision, but our resiliency and courage help us push forward. We always hear, “we’re in this together.” However you want to think about it, we are exploring and blazing the trail as great leaders for ourselves, our families, and those we care about most.
As entrepreneurs and a homeschool family, we are blazing this trail as strong leaders. We are setting a tone in our home. We want the children to remember that we walked with faith and courage as we faced these unprecedented times together. We hope they will know we did the best we could with the information and knowledge we sifted through and analyzed. Children are watching and listening more closely to our actions and expressions than our words. Whether you are homeschooling because of the pandemic or if this was your goal, you are a leader in the home and solid leadership is needed more now than ever. Sadly, we have seen many of our community leaders become too shaken by the pandemic to lead.
We are leaders whether we want to be or not. This is a trail where we face a lot of discernment and obstacles. We can lead boldly and with confidence. I choose to hold onto faith, peace, and discover calm along the path with the things we can control while everything around us seems so out of control. I know God is with us, for us, and will help us. God is faithful.
