Bathing has many purposes other than simply cleansing. It is a fantastic way to wind down, relax and even rejuvenate after a long day. We are sharing three timeless essential oil bath recipes which include formulas to relax, moisturize and tone your skin. For everyone who loves to be as hands on as possible, we’ve even included instructions on making your own soap flakes.

It is always recommended to fill your tub almost full and to soak for at least twenty minutes to enjoy the bliss of these timeless essential oil bath recipes. Our body needs that long to be able to relax and to receive every benefit possible from the essential oils.

To RELAX:
If you are going to enjoy soaking in a bathtub, try this relaxing bubble bath to let it all go after a long day.  Unwind, relax and listen to some favorite music as you soak in the bathtub filled with bubbles surrounding you.

Relaxing Bubble Bath

1 c soap flakes
2 c boiling water
6 Tablespoons Sweet Almond Oil
6 drops of Lavender Essential Oil

Instructions
Bring the water to a boil and add the soap flakes. Stir gently until the soap flakes are dissolved. Add the almond oil to the water mixture and stir. After the boiling stops, add the lavender essential oil.

Store the Relaxing Bubble Bath blend in a sealed container. This will stay fresh and keep for approximately one month at room temperature. Stir or shake each time before using. Add at least 10-12 Tablespoons to running bath water and enjoy soaking in a bathtub filled with bubbles.

Lavender essential oil has many important uses and benefits. For the purposes of this relaxing bubble bath, it will help you relax, reduce anxiety and you’ll enjoy a pleasant aroma.

To MOISTURIZE:
Enjoy a moisturizing bath as you soak away your stress from the day. You will find this bath experience soothing as you smooth your skin with this softening blend. You’ll also enjoy a great fragrance.

Foaming Moisturizing Bath Powder

2 cups powdered milk
1 cup soap flakes
4 tablespoons almond meal
4 tablespoons oat flour
6 drops rose essential oil

If you have it available, add dried mint leaves and or dried rose petals. It’s beautiful and adds even more to this aromatic bathing experience.

Instructions:
Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl. Add at least 4-6 Tablespoons per bath. Soak in this luxurious feeling bath for at least twenty minutes and enjoy the softness it adds to your skin.

Store at room temperature in sealed containers.

Rose essential oil helps moisturize the skin. It has been reported that even inhaling rose essential oil helps prevent water loss in the skin. Rose essential oil also has many other great uses and is good for aging skin.

To TONE
This amazing bath will give your skin some toning benefits. It is wonderful for so many different skin type including aging skin.

Skin Tone Bath
2 cups powdered milk
1 cup sea salt
2 Tablespoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cornstarch
6 drops carrot seed essential oil or frankincense essential oil or patchouli essential oil

Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Add at least 4-6 Tablespoons directly to the bathtub with running water.

Store at room temperature in a sealed container. Shelf life is 2-3 months stored at room temperature.

This also makes a beautiful gift if you put it in decorative bottles or tins.

Frankincense essential oil is a favorite for the skin tone bath, however, if you do not have it available Carrot seed essential oil or patchouli essential oils can also make for a lovely skin tone bath.

Frankincense essential oil helps even skin tone, reduces dark spots, helps tighten skin and reduce wrinkles. Carrot seed essential oil helps improve skin tone and smooths our skin. Patchouli essential oil helps reduce wrinkles, fine lines and is great for aging skin.

 

The Chill Out Bath

The Egyptian queen Cleopatra was renowned for her daily milk baths. Try this bath and experience serenity, warmth and calm.

6 Chamomile tea bags
6 Tablespoons honey
6 cups water
6 cups milk
10-12 drops Chamomile Essential Oil

Combine the water and honey and bring to boil. Then add the tea bags and essential oil. Allow the mixture to steep at least an hour. Remove tea bags. Add milk. Mix well. Fill the bathtub with warm water. Add your Chill Out Bath formula to the warm water. Enjoy.

Chamomile essential oil is known for its calming effects. This will help you feel more peaceful and be able to rest better.

TIP:
Make your own Soap Flakes

Instructions
Save all the small pieces of soap bars that become too small to use.
When you have accumulated two cups pieces of soap, use a food processor or blender to grind these into a powder. This is a great way to recycle and reuse something that would otherwise be discarded.
